This laser is great! It can go as far as I can see, and at night the beam is visible as well. It’s not to bright to hurt your eyes, looking at the dot, but still be careful around pets and other people.
If you really like high power lasers it has little to no burning power, but that is one of it’s good qualities. If you want burning power look for something over 500mW. (Wicked Laser’s Arctic Spyder S3= 1W)
Need a suggestion for metal engravers.?
Hey there. So I sort of need suggestions for an engraving machine, laser or laser Engraver Auctions whatever else. Basically I need it to be able to engrave 1-2mm into painted aluminum/zinc-alloy. I’m planning on engraving various things into metals, and all the ones I see are for leather/bamboo/cloth/etc. etc. Any suggestions?

I was really surprised at how strong this laser is when I first got it, it would reach many blocks down the city (i go to school in boston) I use to laser people in other dorms all the time. But after the battery on this laser died(around a month), the new batteries(standard cvs brand batteries) I bought did not make the laser as bright as it once was, and the battery died after a few uses. I am not sure whether this laser needs a specific type of battery but the laser was pretty much rendered useless after the battery that originally came with it died.
This is a very bright and powerful laser pointer. I bought this for my dog that loves to chase the laser dot. I gave it four stars because i sometimes have to shake it to make it work. But other than that when it works it works great. The beam goes hundreds of feet.
It’s silly powerful and the price is amazing. I did have trouble with the first one I got — it started to become incoherent (beam spread) — but the company replaced it VERY quickly without question. I’ve given “tours” around town from a single vantage point. It’s also able to dot something in broad daylight! A no-nonsense pointer that does the job without compromise.
This thing is just cool. At night the laser dot is visible on buildings several hundred yards away. The line of the laser beam is also visible, so it’s good for pointing at stars. I’m glad I got it.
Good reasonable shipping,aswell as great customer support. Great laser for the price, would deffinitely order an HDE product again.
Had no complaints with this device until it burned out. I estimate I got MAYBE half an hour of use out of it (5-30 seconds per use over several months). One day I went to use it and got a very weak beam; tried new batteries but no luck, it was dead. I was always very gentle with it and kept it in the case so I can only assume bad parts or poor internal assembly.
Good illumination, bright but not glaring. Probably a little easier on the eyes than the red.
This is a great violet laser and it makes a great addition to my budding laser collection. The dot is a bit dimmer than a green 5mw laser, but much brighter than a red 5mw laser, and completely explodes with luminosity if it hits a fluorescent object. Cats LOVE this laser because the color is near their eyes’ peak sensitivity and will chase it intensely. (Humans peak at green and that’s why green lasers appear so bright. But cats peak in the blue-violet range and can barely see the dot of a red laser pointer!)You can also make a fun party trick with some phosphorescent paint on the wall. Your guests will have a lot of fun drawing on the material with the laser. I would not recommend this for presentations because the dot is difficult to focus on from a distance and may cause headaches. The dot itself is perfectly focused, you’ll see for yourself if someone shines it near you from across the room. It just appears very blurry when VIEWED from a distance because our eyes have difficulty focusing light at these wavelengths. This is also NOT an ultraviolet emitter as some reviews have said. Ultraviolet ranges between 10 and 400nm, this emitter is 405nm and within the visible spectrum. Some materials will still react AS IF this is a UV emitter so you can still expect some interesting results!
I bought this laser pointer with a free gift card that I had. Honestly didn’t expect too much, but my expectations were exceeded. This laser pointer is great, and definitely great for the price. I had to wait a few days before writing this review to make sure the product didn’t break first. It’s not the best laser pointer ever, but it’s honestly great for the price.Edit: Bought this product again, this time the batteries weren’t too good… They heated up and the laser stopped working, but putting in energizer batteries fixed it! Buy from HDE!
Switch button broke first day would look elsewhere am getting refund but why go through that
I got this today, the battery in the laser pointer looks like the most low quality painfully cheap battery I’ve ever seen. Anyways, this item was defective, the laser light was so weak I couldnt even see it on a surface really up close. Also, it only comes with one battery, not 2 like its featured in the photo. Returning for refund and will purchase a little more expensive but better quality one. The screwing ridges are really not smooth so its not the easiest to screw and unscrew to replace battery. I did replace the battery BTW to make sure the problem was not with the battery, even with new batteries this thing barely worked.
I had this product for a while an it’s horrible. It only works when you shake it and latley it’s Been overheating and getting really hot.I can’t use it anymore for fear it will burn my hand. I suggest that no one buy this product . Don’t waste your money!
Purchased this laser with the understanding that it was 50mw. It is no brighter than my previous green laser that I purchased off of ebay for a few bucks, which came from China, and was a 5 mw. It I might add has had hours and hours of enjoyment and is still working great.This laser does have the nice on off button, as well as a better case, but is no where close to being what they say as far as power. Side by side my cheapy from China is a tad brighter and has a smaller / tighter focal point a block down the way.1 star for the nice case and on off button….Save your money.
I LOVE THIS,ITS EXTREMLY POWERFUL AND A GREAT ASSESSORY FOR A REAL RIFLE OR AIRSOFT.I ONLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR PPL 18 OR OLDER BECAUSE IF YOU PUT THIS IN YOU EYE YOU WILL GO BLIND!!! RANGE OF OVER 12,000 FEET…ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THE BATTERY THAT COMES WITH IT LOSE POWER FAST SO BUY EXTRA CR2 BATTERIES
this lazer goes really far, it is just like it doesnt have no limituse it to point at stars at night and it is very beautiful i like it !!!!
This is an outstanding and very powerful laser. It seems to be of high quality and probably worth the price. However, it is not what is pictured. Also, the one I received DOES NOT use CR2 batteries. It uses 3V 123 sized lithium batteries. They are the same kind used with Surefire flashlights.The only identifying marks on this laser is “XX-850″. The specification tag is the same as what is pictured, and otherwise, it seems like a very good laser. It works well for astronomy as well as the meeting room, but is very bright for the latter.I am not disappointed, but am not giving it five stars because it is not the same item as is pictured. It is functionally the same as far as I can tell, except for the battery size, but not the same item.
I purchased this for my paranormal group for spotting shadow people during investigations, I am new to this so I gave this a try and was not disapointed. it is only 30mw so battery life should be great, I will be trying this out more on big investigation next month, I’m sure it will do great
I bought one of these and loved it so much I bought four more that evening! HDE is a really good company. They shipped fast and answered any questions I had. I only wish I would have noticed the green laser with 5 different filters!!
Nifty toy. Great for stargazing. kalaidoscopic lens a lot of fun. Lasted for 5 uses. Nuff said.
Sometimes for very little money you can buy something that creates joy and wonder very far beyond what you’d expect. If I had spent 4 times what this laser costs I would have been more than satisfied. You can see the beam clearly at night and the projector creates a 3d pattern (When used at night outside) that is ‘awesome’ in the full meaning of that word. I am a 62 year old amateur Astronomer who has, in this green laser, one of the best toys he’s ever had.By the way my cat loves it too, but I can’t let her chase the green dot for fear it might cause her eye damage.
