I bought this for my 6 year old daughter, yes she knows not too look at it or point at peoples eyes. She says its the best toy ever. She like the star effect and shines it at the ceiling in her dark bedroom and looks like stars in the sky.. I am a cool dad.

What is “direct viewing” of a class 3b laser?
I am considering doing the laser flashlight hack ( http://www.metacafe.com/watch/756433/laser_flashlight_hack/ ) where you take the laser diode out of a DVD burner (I am going to take the laser diode out of an old DVD burner for a TV, not a computer) and attach it to a mini-mag flashlight in order to make a burning laser flashlight. I took the main case off of the DVD burner, and there is a laser warning sticker on the DVD burner drive indicating it is a class 3b (NOT laser Diode Drive IIIb) laser, and the warning led to me researching how dangerous this is to your eyes, and I found several sites that say that it is not harmful as long as you don’t have direct exposure. It also said that you should use protective eye wear when viewing directly, which leads to my question: what the hell is “direct viewing?!?”By direct viewing, do they mean looking at the projected dot (the dot projected onto a wall or other target) without looking through special laser glass or protective eye wear, looking near the opening of the laser housing (being able to see the source, but not having the dot on your eye), or being a dumbass and shining the dot into your eye?I would also like to know if anyone else has built one and if it is safe, because the video could be faked, and we don’t know the long-term effects.     It was smaller than I expected, powerful green beam. NOT A TOY for kids.Happy with the purchase and the delivery service.

    The most I would pay for this item is $10 at the most. Its just a regular laser.

    After receiving a laser pointer that appeared to be defective, I was pleasantly surprised with the efficiency, politeness, and attention from the seller, HDE. A return for replacement was quickly arranged and executed flawlessly. The replacement pointer works quite well. Battery life is somewhat low, but that is to be expected from these devices. I would recommend this pointer to others and highly recommend HDE as a seller.

    this laser is nice and strong and it comes with some cool little designs…they look sweet at night, my drive is very dark since I am far from any street lights….so they look sick at night…and you can even see the point in the middle of the day, just not as much fun, unless you are at a park >:)….
