This unit is less bright that an equivalently graded 30mw two-AA battery pointer. It also shuts itself off and dims randomly. Poor quality control. Stick with the two-battery 30mw green lasers for consistent and more potent brightness.
Should I buy the GVS1000 Long Range IR Day Night PTZ Surveillance Camera?
HelloI am looking to protect a Port Harbor and need to see about 1000m at night.I was looking at the GVS1000 because its made by Bosch (Extreme CCTV) but it only does 1km distance which is a bit short as I am hoping to get at least 2km, of night vision. The GVS1000 uses active IR but I am not sure if thermal would be better. Is there a better solution out there or is the GVS1000 the only camera that can see these ranges at night. If there are better solutions out there please post information and linksKey Words: Long Range IR Day Night, PTZ surveillance, Long, Range, Infrared, Camera, IR, Active IR, Night Vision, Thermal, FLIR, Extreme CCTV, PTZ, Surveillance, IP, 680×480, HighResolution, Video Aanalytics, Solar, Atex, Vumii, Network Video, Marine, Explosion Proof, GenIII, EMCCD, 60x, 36x, 40x, 20x, Zoom Lens, 1500mm, 2000mm, 2200mm, IR corrected lens, Day, Night, 3 CCD, Day-Night, Stainless-Steel Housing, WDR, XDR, Backlight compensation, HLC, 3D-DNR, broadscast, sens-up, monochrome, Iris, Rugged, Outdoor, Long Range laser Diode Lens IR Camera, Cooled Thermal Imager, Ascendent, United Vision, Bosch, Pelco, Laser IR, Illumination, LED, IR Corrected, SWIRL, Thermal FPA, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 15, 20, 25 30, miles, km, Pan-Tilt-Zoom, continuous laser IR Diode, Motorized Zoom Lens, Range Finder, Wireless, Low light, 0 lux, Off Grid, Surveillance Camera, Wind powered, ISAP, SC6000, FLIR infrared camera, Wireless Transmission, IR Cur Filter, 24/7, Cohu, Ascenent Technology Group, Laser infrared illuminator, ZX700 illuminator, Dinion XF CCD, Variable speed, highly precise motor drive, pan and tilt Preset and tour, 60x IR-corrected motor zoom lens with focal length of 12.5‑750 mm extending to 25‑1500 mm with doubler function ,ALS-20, electro optics,Detection, Identification, Recognition, Infrared illumination, Infrared lighting, Infrared imaging, Thermal Infrared, border defense, critical infrastructure protection, ports, harbors, airports homeland security, military, anti terrorism, Perimeter Defense. transportation, intelligent video, 3 axis, Gyro stabilized, EV3000, Sky Cam, Titan Thermal, Titan Laser, Pelco P/D extended protocol Telemetry/receiver,fiberoptic cable, , RJ45, Tracker system Roll & amp; Pitch Stabilization, Long Range Devices, Digital Night Vision, achieves 1km (3300ft) of active-infrared, Viewers, Laser Rangefinder, Specials, Very useful Accessories, long, axys, aventura, cantronics, opgal, explosion proof,Titan thermal, Says security, IR LED’s, ex52, Carl Zeiss, range wireless Video ,solutions, camera, military ,System, satellite, cellular, LAN, WAN, integrator,Questar, night vision,Export, long range, Eagle Vision, 0,fiber optic, control room, long, lens, ExtremeX, High Sensitivit,y ModeDry, Nitrogen Backfilled, wavelength, Axsys , thermal, day, night, 360 degree , UAV, aircraft, control, gimbal, target position GPS, Video Map, manufacturer, GSA, Vandal Proof, Bullet proof Glass, Zone 1, Zone, 2, Zone 3, Hazardous environments,Thanks for your help please post some other options that are available.Wow thanks William, Ascendent makes some amazing products they are going to custom build me a solution with active IR and thermal, thanks for giving me exactly what I needed.Sincerely Eric

This is a lot of fun, especially with phosphorescent rocks and glow-in-the-dark objects (and soon a glow-in-the-dark painted wall). Dot brightness depends on the material you’re shooting at.The star lens splits the beam and reduces individual dot brightness as a result. Point it at a white surface for best results. Remove it for a single bright beam.Might be good for presentations, but test it in-situ before hand if possible.Go for it if you like lasers.
the dot is a bit big, but the laser is strong, unlike my green one, this does affect glow in the dark stuffI’m amused
This is a pretty good laser. Remember is near ultraviolet so on some surfaces it will appear a dim purple, but when aimed at something like white paper the dot becomes bright blue color. There is a little heat from the dot which you can feel on your lips which I was a little surprised. It is well built and has a solid feel. On the laser it self it says Class IIIB which is between 5-500mW this is labeled as max 10mW so you are getting between 5-10mW on this one. This is something not to be really played with by young children. The beam is visible at night when aimed towards you. Would not be a good for presentations unless the surface aimed at response to Ultraviolet light plus some people have a hard time seeing this color beside green is the best since it is easily visible. I am happy to add this to my collection. The case it came in was hinged metal tin. oddly the instruction manual in the case was for a green laser.Remember it is blue/violet but it is not a weak laser. Appears just as bright on white paper as my 5mW green laser. I have seen a laser of this class and color a little cheaper some other places but many have had some low ratings on quality of the product.
Laser pointer is very well made and came in a handsome case. The light is a violet-blue and is very striking, a color I’ve not seen before in a laser pointer. Aiming it at an object that glows in the dark makes the object floresce brightly, neat. The star lens makes for an instant light show. A great deal at the price.
It was smaller than I expected, powerful green beam. NOT A TOY for kids.Happy with the purchase and the delivery service.
