I ordered a refurbished Dell laptop which was delivered in a timely fashion and in great condition. This laptop was a replacement for a similar laptop that was in need of repairs. The condition of the refurbished model rivaled that of a brand new laptop. Thus far, this refurbished laptop has performed without flaw (2 weeks of heavy use). Excellent job, thanks for the great service!Dell Latitude D610 Laptop Wireless Computer (Refurbished)
Dell Latitude D610 Laptop Wireless Computer (Refurbished)I purchased a refurbished Dell Laptop with low expectations. And I got, I believe, a much sturdier computer than I expected. I really hadn’t wanted a Dell, but that was what was available at the time. I didn’t give it 5 stars simply because I do not believe everything is perfect. It operates well at speed for my relatively simple needs, and is complete with OS for a very reasonable price. Even the battery has a little life in it .. it is good for about an hour. I bought it to replace a Lenovo laptop that I have had for years, and relied upon until it had a disagreement with a glass of tea.I had no trouble downloading and installing a few reliable programs like Firefox, Thunderbird, Chrome, and Winamp. I had a little trouble with the wireless, but it was my problem, not a problem with the machine. The only problem that I foresee is with the power cable. It doesn’t have a sturdy center post like others i have seen. It looks more like a cable TV connector with that skinny little pin that bends easily if not placed precisely in the right position.
I bought one of these laptops two months ago. It has been working just fine. Today Microsoft told me that the license is not valid. It has a valid certificate of authenticity on the back but does not have a second “refurbished” CoA. When I look at the internal System Properties/General tab it says “XP Corporate” which means it was covered under a volume/site license which can not be transferred or sold. I will probably have to buy a fresh copy of XP ($150) and re-install. Before I made the order I checked to see that the advertisement specified “Genuine Windows XP”. I also checked the CoA when it arrived. When the Microsoft updater offered to run “Genuine Advantage” to check the authenticity I confidently thought “sure, go right ahead.” Now every time I restart I get a big message that says I am a victim of software piracy. If left uncorrected, I expect the operating system would eventually simply stop running. Some vendors specify “Genuine Windows XP”. If it arrives with XP it may be legitimate, or NOT. Microsoft has a very active updating and authenticating program. You probably don’t want a system that is not kept up to date and free of security vulnerabilities. The updater will check the system validity.
I was skeptical about purchasing a refurbished D610. It has worked like a charm the speed and capacity are suitable for my needs. It’s a great home computer, I don’t have to do any heavy computing with it but it seems quite capable to take on any job. The only thing that could be better is the brightness of the screen. I need to do some research to see if I can make adjustment in the screen brightness.I purchased the updated anti-virus and malware software and updated my router, it accepted all I could throw at it and works just fine. For $233.00 this has been a great bargain!!!
Bought my Kindle a couple of months ago, it’s as good as I’d hoped it would be! Easy to handle, easy to read.. great functionality. The ease with which you can move through the options is fantastic. And I’m not sure they could have made it any easier to buy directly from the Kindle!! If you’re thinking about purchasing one, I can thoroughly recommend that you do! You won’t be disappointed. Love being able to turn it on, and browse literally thousands of books!
I love this product! The only thing that would improve it would be a built in back light for reading in dark areas.
When I read a book, I like to know what page I am reading and how many pages the book has. I also like to know the chapter name and number. Since Kindle does not provide any of these, I feel so lost since there is no ‘perspective’. “Location” does not do anything for me; it may be fine for a robot.Sad, I am…
I couldn’t be happier with this purchase! I am an avid reader who had lost her desire to read in the past few years because there never seemed to be enough time. Reading on the kindle is so convenient and fun I’m now reading more than ever! And thanks to the huge list of free classics, I’m re-reading all of the books I read in college. I’m also enjoying some new modern authors too. I take it everywhere and don’t know what I’d have done without it on our family camping trips this summer.
The best value for your money, super efficient computer, very quiet and easy to put together.
This is my 2nd one of these and I would buy a 3rd and 4th if necessary. I broke my first one while out drinking one night so I made sure to get a case for it this time. I know there are a lot of other ones out there with a lot of bells and whistles, but for me, this one does the job and at an unbeatable price too!
Originally, I was going to get a TomTom GPS unit (because I’ve used them before), but when I noticed the great price on a refurb Garmin (which I’ve never used), and the many good ratings, I decided to get it. I was not disappointed. First of all, the large screen size is really nice and makes reading the map very pleasant. Like many GPS units, it’s very simple to use and the touch screen works very well in an age where everyone seems to have an Apple iTouch or iPhone. The voice on the phone is embarrassing at times, especially here in Albuquerque where many street names are in Spanish…talk about inaccurate pronunciation! I experienced the same thing in Honolulu, where the Hawaiian street names sound ridiculous on the Garmin GPS unit. Thankfully, you can disable the voice function. Another thing that’s kind of funny…the unit often tells me I’m at my destination (a residential address) and is typically 3 houses away from actually being there. After I noticed this, I just started looking around when the Garmin says I’m close to my destination. Here’s what I love about this GPS:-The large sized touch screen makes the device easy to use-While driving, it rapidly recalculates your route if you go somewhere it did not tell you to go.-The price is very nice, especially on the refurbished units and mine has never had any problems of any kind.-Compared to a similarly priced TomTom One, I prefer this Garmin because of its larger size.I highly recommend this GPS unit.
I recently got a job in Dallas. Having lived all my life in a small town, this was a HUGE adjustment. This Garmin GPS has been well worth what I paid for it. Several times I’ve missed a turn or gotten on the wrong road, but it will find an alternate route fairly quickly. Awesome product. I would recommend to anyone moving to or travelling through a new area.Garmin nüvi 255W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator
